  Title - Adult Glucose (sugar) Tolerance Test

  Description - Some people's bodies are unable to use glucose (sugar) properly. Occasionally this is checked by a formal test known as a Glucose Tolerance Test.

  Title - After your splenectomy

  Description - The risk of infection is the highest within the first 2 years after splenectomy but some patients have developed infection many years after the removal of their spleen. The risk is also higher in children, but is still very small.

  Title - Fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Moxifloxacin, Ofloxacin and Delafloxacin)

  Description - Fluoroquinolones (e.g. Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Moxifloxacin, Ofloxacin and Delafloxacin) are a family of antibiotics used to treat severe infections caused by bacteria.

  Title - Gentamicin

  Description - Gentamicin is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Your doctor may decide to give you gentamicin if it is effective against the type of bacteria causing your infection.

  Title - Instructions for Collection of 24 Hour Urine Sample

  Description - A sample bottle is provided for your 24 hour urine collection. Some bottles contain a preservative. These bottles will be clearly marked.

  Title - Instructions For Semen Analysis

  Description - Semen analysis is a complex investigation which takes several hours and can only be undertaken by specially trained staff. Please phone 0151 430 1831 or 0151 430 1837 to arrange a date & time for your specimen to be examined.

  Title - Linezolid

  Description - Linezolid is an antibiotic used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Your doctor may decide to give you linezolid if it is effective against the type of bacteria causing your infection.

  Title - Vasectomy - Post Vasectomy Semen Analysis

  Description - You have been asked to bring a semen sample to the laboratory following your vasectomy. The sample should be produced 16+ weeks post surgery.
