Inclusive Employer – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At MWL, Everyone Matters. We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity and creating opportunities for all, where individuals from every background feel valued and respected and where differences will be appreciated, and discrimination is not tolerated.

That means we welcome all good candidates inclusive of ethnic background, disability, sex, religion or belief, gender identity and expression or reassignment, sexual orientation, age, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity, veteran status, and the many other parts of a person’s identity.

As a ‘Disability Confident Leader’ we offer a guaranteed interview scheme for applicants who consider themselves to have a disability, and who meet the minimum selection criteria (essential) at each stage of the selection process. You can indicate your wish apply under the Trust's guaranteed interview scheme in the personal information section of the online application form.

Our patients come from all walks of life and so do we. We embrace people from all backgrounds, and we want you to bring your whole self to work where you feel respected and valued as an individual and part of our team. We expect kindness in everything you say and do. By committing to this, you will find a fulfilling, supportive and safe place to work at MWL.

Staff Networks

We are committed to creating a safe, diverse and inclusive working environment and ensuring that we harness the talents of all our staff.

One of the ways we support this is through the development of our staff networks. The networks give our staff the opportunity to network and provide development opportunities for all its members. It also gives staff an opportunity to contribute to addressing and solving problems for all under-presented groups and individuals within the Trust.

We have six staff networks:

  • Building Abilities@MWL (Disability & Wellbeing)
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender+ (LGBT+)
  • Armed Forces
  • Building a Multicultural Environment
  • Carers
  • Menopause Café

If you are interested in joining one of the networks, please contact: equality&diversity@sthk.nhs.uk
