Our Wards - Whiston Hospital - Bevan Court 2 - Reablement Unit

Overview

Bevan Court 2 is a 30 bedded ward that delivers care to patients who no longer require ongoing care on an acute medical or surgical ward.

Patients who access Bevan Court 2 are mainly transferred from the acute inpatient wards; however patients can be admitted directly from the community for a period of monitoring or treatment.

Patients on Bevan 2 are cared for by a multidisciplinary team of Nurses, Doctors, Therapists, Social Workers, pharmacy and volunteers as part of the Trust’s frailty service. The overall aim of the unit is to provide care, support and planning in preparation for hospital discharge, wherever that maybe. The focus of the ward is reablement, ensuring that deconditioning is avoided and the transition from the acute hospital setting to the community is as smooth as possible.
