About the service
Welcome to the Neurophysiology Department.
Neurophysiology is a diagnostic speciality concerned with recording and interpreting electrical signals from the central nervous system. It is important in the evaluation of nerve and brain function and the assessment and diagnosis of the nervous system such as epilepsy and nerve and muscle disease.
We carry out the following services:-
- EEGs
- Sleep EEGs
- Ambulatory EEGs
- Nerve conduction studies and Carpal tunnel clinics
- EMG (electromyography) Clinics
We presently accept consultant referrals for EEGs, NCS/EMGs and carpal tunnel clinics. We accept GP referrals via ERS for carpal tunnel syndrome and EMG studies.

- Sleep Deprived EEG - Monday to Friday
- Ambulatory EEG - Monday to Thursday
- NCS/EMG Clinic - Monday, Wednesday & Thursday
- Carpal Tunnel & Ulnar Clinic - Monday to Friday
