The Trust provides a wide range of policies to support staff in their everyday lives which set out the necessary guidance for decision making and the associated processes.

Access to Health Records Policy

The purpose of the Access to Health Records Policy is to ensure there is a systematic approach to the management and the process of access that is understood by all staff.

Code of Confidentiality Policy V6

This document is a guide to required practice and responsibility for those who work within or under contract to the Trust concerning confidentiality of staff and patient information and patients’ consent to the use of their records. Version 6

Copy Letters to Patients Policy

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all adult patients requesting access to correspondence relating to their outpatient attendance receive a copy of the letter sent to their General Practitioner

Ensure that the Trust meets its statutory requirements as defined by the Equality Act 2010

Guidance for the support of carers within St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

To provide Trust staff with guidance on how to support carers.

Patient Access Policy

This policy applies to all staff involved in the management of patient access.

Patient Experience Strategy

The five domains of the NHS Outcomes Framework describe the national outcomes that all providers of NHS‐funded care should be contributing towards.

Provision of Same-Sex Accommodation Policy

Same-sex accommodation will be provided, except where it is in the best interests of the patient or reflects their personal preference

Patients are eligible for free NHS treatment at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching hospitals NHS Trust if they are: Ordinarily resident in the
UK or: Overseas visitors, but entitled to free NHS services under the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations
