Overview/Background:

After completing A-levels in a comprehensive school in Crosby I attended UCL in London to embark on my medical training. Post pre-clinical years I completed a BSc in Neuroscience, writing my academic thesis on the structure of the Basal Ganglia. In my early years as a junior doctor I rotated through North London Hospitals including The Royal Free, UCLH and Chelsea & Westminster before transferring back to the Merseyside area to be near my family.

I was delighted to secure a consultant post in St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, in an area which serves my own family and friends, and in which I was born.

I have always hoped I would be able to use my BSc and medical knowledge to provide an excellent service for my local community. Leading the Movement Disorder service for St Helens and Knowsley allows me to combine all those skills and I was honoured, in 2018, to be asked to be the President of the St Helens Branch of PDUK and invited to be a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians.
