Overview/Background:

I have been a Consultant Rheumatologist at this Trust since 2001 and was trained entirely in Merseyside .

I have been involved in the many changes that have happened in primary care services and STHK Trust over the years. I have helped develop musculoskeletal, spinal, AED, medical and rheumatology services within the Trust and Primary care groups. I have a very good working relationship with my Consultant colleagues both in clinical specialties within St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals and with Rheumatology Trainees and Consultant colleagues in Cheshire and Merseyside. From November 2022 I took up an integrated role with Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Rheumatology service.

I have many abstract publications from 1992 onwards at British Thoracic Society, British Society for Rheumatology Annual General Meetings, North West Rheumatology meetings, European League Against Rheumatism Congress, American Thoracic Society, American College of Rheumatology Scientific Meeting and most recently Royal College of Physicians

Published work includes case reports, letters, papers and review articles. My area of research expertise is in rheumatoid arthritis associated interstitial lung disease and methotrexate pneumonitis. My latest publication is ‘Does methotrexate cause progressive fibrotic interstitial lung disease? A systematic review ‘Rheumatology International volume 41, pages1055–1064 (2021).
