Overview/Background:

Mr. Ravi Gudena works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust, specialising in treating hip and knee problems. He has a special interest in Hip and Knee revision surgery, Hip impingement, Young adult hip problems and bone preserving hip surgeries.

Mr Gudena is one of the highest volume Hip and Knee surgeons in Mersey and Cheshire and one of the very few surgeons who perform the Hip arthroscopy.

Mr. Gudena graduated in 2001 from India and came to UK. He completed his basic surgical training in North Wales and Orthopaedic speciality training across the Mersey region and received Fellow of Royal Colleges Award in 2010.

Mr. Gudena completed one year of Fellowship in Canada and visited centres across Canada and United States of America to enhance his clinical and academic experience. He published in peer reviewed journals and presented papers in both national and international meetings.

 Mr. Ravi Gudena uses the latest advanced techniques in treating the hip and knee problems including minimally invasive hip and knee replacements (bone preservation hip surgery), Hip and Knee revision surgery, Patient Specific Knee replacements and PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections for treatment of arthritis, chronic tendon and bursa problems.

He teaches in National and International Hip and Knee meetings and Hip arthroscopy courses.
