Alternate Wednesdays 1:30pm to 5:00pm (general chest clinic)
Thursday 09:00am to 12:30pm (lung shadow clinic)


Overview/Background:

Dr Malhotra completed his Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine training in West Yorkshire, and has worked at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals as a Consultant since 2012. He is the departmental lead for Quality Improvement, Audit and Research and has more than 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals. He co-authored the British Thoracic Society guidelines as well Quality Standards on management of pulmonary nodules.

In 2019 Dr Malhotra was appointed lead physician for lung cancer and has implemented several streamlining strategies for the lung cancer pathway, striving to improve patient experience and efficiency of the lung MDT. He is one of the responsible clinicians for the targeted lung health check (TLHC) lung cancer screening program in Merseyside.

In his spare time, Dr Malhotra enjoys cricket, cooking and photography, although not as much as he enjoys doing the ironing.
