Overview/Background:
Dr Aung specialises in diabetes and endocrinology as well as general internal medicine. Her diabetes and endocrinology clinics are in St Helens Hospital and general medicine ward is ward 2A (general medicine) in Whiston hospital.
Dr Aung became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2015. She worked in diabetes and endocrinology departments in Edinburgh, east midlands and London before she came to the Merseyside region to complete her higher speciality training. She was appointed as a consultant physician at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2023.
Dr Aung is the inpatient diabetes lead and works closely with the diabetes specialist nursing team.
