About the service
The urology unit at St Helens hospital offers an extensive range of urological services provided by highly skilled specialists. We aim to provide the highest achievable standard of care.
We provide a full range of clinics and procedures to include:
- Prostate assessment clinics
- One stop haematuria clinics
- Continence clinics
- Flexible cystoscopy
- Flow studies
- Erectile dysfunction clinics
- Noncomplex stone clinics
- Urodynamic studies
- Botox injections
- Transurethral laser ablation (TULA)
- Transperineal prostate biopsy’s
- About the Team
We are a large team which consists of 8 nurse practitioners, 1 urology technical officer and 3 health care assistants.

We are based at St Helens hospital – Green zone.
We are open Monday – Saturday 8am to 5 pm.
We also have evening clinics on Tuesdays and Wednesday.

As we are a teaching hospital, it is common for us to have students observing in the clinic room. If you do not feel comfortable with this please let the doctors and nurses know.
