Overview/Background:

Mani Rathinam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in treating disorders of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, undertaking advanced arthroscopic techniques or joint replacement surgery. He has extensive experience in Orthopaedics and has augmented his skills during his fellowship training in Upper limb surgery at the world renowned Wrightington hospital.

He treats patients suffering from a number of conditions including rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, shoulder instability, shoulder or elbow arthritis. He also treats complex fractures of the upper limb. He is well versed with anatomic and reverse geometry shoulder arthroplasty including the use of GPS guided techniques.

Mani is committed to furthering the development of shoulder and elbow surgery and is a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. He has an active interest in training of candidates as part of the MCh Orthopaedics in liaison with Wrightington hospital. He is also actively involved in research into shoulder and elbow conditions with multiple publications and presentations at scientific meetings.
